The atmosphere in Alicante tends to be dry throughout the year. There is very little rain during the summer months and the fall tends to be the rainiest. The city usually receives an average of 15 to 20 inches of precipitation each year, sometimes going as low as 6.

Transportation throughout Alicante

Unlike several other tourist destinations, driving in Alicante is not very difficult or treacherous. Renting a car is a reasonable option for transportation, especially if you rent a car from the airport. There are several internationally recognized car rental carriers located right on the airport grounds.

Most of the attractions within Alicante are a bit far apart from each other for walking, so if you don’t want to rent a car, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the city’s public bus system. The bus system is very affordable and the drivers are incredibly friendly. If you don’t know where you’re going, or where to get off, they’ll likely let you know.

There are dozens of taxi stands scattered throughout the streets of Alicante – most of which are considered safe for use. They are more expensive than public transportation, but offer a more direct route as well.
