I’ve been to so many different places and on so many different excursions that I really need something special to make it worthwhile for me to leave home. Surfing around the other day I think I found it, and in one of the least likely places . . . Russia. They’re are all kinds of cool stuff you can do in Russia, that wasn’t available just a few years ago. You could for example, take some time learning to fly, and actually fly with some help real Russian jet fighters. Now that’s not something you can do in many countries. Just one of the other nice perks to the cold war ending. Personally, I’d love to fly mig jets around, even if it was just for a half hour or so. I realize, that I’d probably just be sitting in the back while the real pilot did all the flying, but that’s OK with me. Just hope I don’t lose my lunch in the process.

Of course for those of you with more tame aspirations for your adventure travel, there is always red square tours Russia to try out. The architecture there is truly fascinating, and your feet never leave the ground. I can think of a few people in my family that would probably enjoy that kind of tourist time a little more.

It is such a great way to get away from it all and take some time to relieve your stress. Once the date is set you will need to start getting ready and getting prepared to head off.

Especially if you are going on your first ever cruise you may not know what to take along with you on your trip. Most cabins on cruise ships will not have lots of space for luggage so you need to be conservative with how much you pack.

Starting with your clothes is usually the best way to begin packing. How many days will you be going on the cruise? You should have one new outfit for every day you will be there and of course some dressier outfits for night-time activities and going out to dinner. To save space you should incorporate pieces that you can mix and match up together.

Neutral colours such as khaki in a pair of pants or black in a skirt will be wise to take along because you can switch them up with so many different pieces. Consider the climate of where you are travelling to because the weather will probably change quite dramatically from your starting point to your destination.

Once you have your wardrobe out of the way you can start planning what valuables to pack. Of course you want to take a camera along, which is best to keep in your purse or carry-on bag to ensure it does not get lost or broken. The same goes for any other electronics, jewellery pieces or medications that you need to bring along.

Toiletries are also important. Even though they will have toilet paper and napkins onboard you may want to bring some of your own. Do not forget to bring your shampoo, conditioner and other skin and hair products. Most cruises go for about a week so you will shower and get cleaned up a few times over the course of your stay.

These are just the basic items that you can bring along with you on any Russian river cruises. Now you can get off on the right foot and have the best time on your cruise vacation.
